The Alliance supports Indiana Ys through networking, providing opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, and encouraging ongoing professional development of Y professionals and volunteers. The Alliance: 

  • provides an opportunity for personal development utilizing the Culture Index Tool.
  • partners with Shafer Leadership Academy to provide membership for staff to access dozens of professional development opportunities at no cost. 
  • provides at least two conferences annually geared toward leadership and professional development for all YMCA staff and volunteers. 
  • partners with Old National Bank to provide financial literacy education for staff.
  • provides many opportunities for board development, through trainings/cohorts specifically targeted for board governance and Chief Volunteer Officers. We have also designed education modules specifically to help YMCA boards lead their Y to success.
